😊 Welcome to my journeys!
Some trips demand the full treatment — multi-chapter itineraries, obsessive route planning, a camera bag that makes airline staff visibly nervous. Others are born on a Friday afternoon from a half-formed idea and a full tank of gas. Both kinds deserve to be told.
This is where I document them: the long hauls and the long weekends, the bucket-list destinations and the backroad discoveries. Part travelogue, part photo essay, part ongoing argument with myself about what "travel" even means when real life keeps showing up uninvited.
🚗 Open Road is for the self-driving trips — the ones where I'm making every decision myself, badly, somewhere around hour six, when the snacks are gone and the GPS rerouting starts to feel personal.
🚢 Open Water is for the cruises and the ship tours that come with them — where the driving, at least, isn't my problem. I consult on cruise travel professionally, so don't expect a casual "we just walked on and winged it" account here; expect itineraries dissected the way I dissect everything else, plus whatever I learn firsthand that's actually worth passing on to clients.
🦎 Field Notes is for trips with a naturalist's eye — tide pools, mushroom trails, birding, anything that rewards getting your knees dirty and your binoculars out.
🚌 Pit Stops is for the rest — the weekend escapes where the destination mattered less than just getting out of the house.
Wherever you start, I hope something here makes you want to go somewhere.
